MEDIA ADVISORY
Calgary, ALTA June 26, 2023 – GlobalFest Groves was a Success Again!
When: Sunday 25 June, 1pm to 4pm
Where: Park Space at 7711 Macleod Trail SW (Trico Homes)
What: GlobalFest Groves was a Success Again!
After a fantastic debut in 2022, GlobalFest continues its streak of success with the GlobalFest Groves Mini OneWorld Festival, as this year’s event was filled with families, and loved ones watching the array of cultural performances, enjoying the delicious food, and visiting pavilions.
Visitor Testimonial:
“With this being my first time at this event, I did not know what to expect. It was surreal the amount of people that began to flow into the park. Chairs filled up fast and soon people were “picnicking” on the grass to watch the performances. There were so many things to look at, as well as fun, light-hearted activities for kids and parents. The pavilions and food trucks were amazing as well! I got delicious Pork Belly Taco Baos from Dumpling Hero, ice cream from Uzi Ice Cream, and washed it all down with lemonade from Family Squeezed Lemonade! I also got a gorgeous Henna design and a ring from some of the pavilions.”
We would also like to thank Trico Homes, Trico LivingWell, Kingsland Community Association, and Lakewood of Strathmore for making this pop-event possible and providing a beautiful park for the venue.
As part of the “Reaching Out” initiative launched by GlobalFest in 2021, Groves puts an emphasis on the community development work underway and aims to expand it by accumulating new corporate and community partners to create a more inclusive and engaged Calgary.
Long term, GlobalFest is a series of in-community green spaces created collaboratively with OneWorld’s cultural association partners. With a goal of eliminating their environmental footprint, GlobalFest Groves’ intent is to ensure the Groves annually capture more in carbon emissions that are generated by GlobalFest activities.
