What: GlobalFest Groves pop-up in the community for Alberta Culture Days
GlobalFest is excited to present an afternoon of multi-cultural performances with its OneWorld Cultural partners this Sunday September 18, as part of the 2022 Alberta Culture Days festivities.
Taking place at Unity Park on International Avenue – the home of GlobalFest’s annual festival – it continues to expand on the Reaching Out Initiative, GlobalFest’s newest community development activity supported by Champion Sponsor Trico Homes.
Long-term, GlobalFest Groves, is planned to be a network of in-community green spaces created collaboratively with OneWorld’s cultural association partners throughout the greater Calgary area. Casual gathering spaces, landscaped with trees, seating areas, interpretive installations and level space for community events and performances.
The afternoon will showcase dancers and musicians from Turkey, China, the Philippines, Azerbaijan and Bangladesh. Performances begin 1pm.
Also released as part of the Alberta Culture Days programming, GlobalFest Flavours livestreamed with a Thai cooking segment on Tuesday 13 September. The episode and is free to watch on GlobalFest’s YouTube channel.
