What: GlobalFest, Calgary’s own Multicultural & Fireworks Festival

Calgary, 17 August, 2023 – GlobalFest is excited to celebrate its summer return to Elliston Park this week, with cultural pavilions, the night market, live entertainment and more.

GlobalFest’s 2023 summer festival sees the return of cultural pavilions, night market, two performance stages with non-stop entertainment, plus food trucks, and, of course, incredible fireworks to cap off each night.

Commencing 17 August, pyro-musical designers from Austria return to defend their 2022 Best of the Festival title against Italy, Portugal and Spain – lighting up the skies above the lake in Elliston Park. This year’s event wraps on 26 August with the iconic Canadian team Archangel presenting a show-stopping finale of light and sound that will be sure to wow audiences.

Two stages will feature back-to-back entertainment with dance and musical troupes from our cultural partners. A dedicated children’s area will be located close to the recently upgraded playground, plus a delicious selection of international food booths and trucks will be available around the park, together with park-wide licensing.

Voting for the Best of the Festival – People’s Choice opens up 17 August, with audiences able to choose their favorite fireworks presentation, food truck and cultural pavilion and enter the draw for great prizes.

The Passport Pursuit contest offers entrants the chance to win flights with Air Canadas and is a great way to connect kids big and small with the different nationalities that call Calgary home. Entry is online with the Clue Solvers app or with a booklet that be collected at any of the cultural pavilions around the park.

Tickets on sale until 26 August.
