GlobalFest and Air Canada are bringing the world to Calgary!
CALGARY, AB – GlobalFest is proud to announce that Air Canada has become the Official Airline of GlobalFest. This partnership between two organizations that put culture and inclusivity at the centre of their actions will help foster the initiatives that promote diversity and provide an inclusive platform for the many voices throughout Calgary.
In support of GlobalFest, Alberta’s Most Explosive Festival, Air Canada will be transporting pyro-technicians from the United States, Spain, China and Canada for the Trico Homes International Fireworks Festival, in addition to Human Rights Forum speakers from across North America.
Both Air Canada and GlobalFest believe in providing a stage for the many communities that reside in Calgary and the surrounding regions. By having an interactive cultural festival in the city, and allowing voices within the multicultural communities to be heard, GlobalFest strives to bring people from all corners of the world together. The support of like-minded organizations, such as Air Canada, allows GlobalFest to continue its work as a community development agency.
Ken Goosen, Producer of GlobalFest, states that, “individual and communal expression through arts and culture is vital to creating a sense of community, which is imperative to Calgary’s success as a multicultural destination. Thanks to Air Canada, we are giving Calgarians the opportunity to experience artistic perspectives from across the globe at GlobalFest, and discuss international issues with speakers at our Forum in the Fall.”
Ferio Pugliese, Air Canada’s Senior Vice President, Air Canada Express and Government Relations, said, “We are very pleased to partner with GlobalFest as this event is a shining example of our commitment to embracing Canada’s broad mosaic of cultures. As a global airline, Air Canada proudly celebrates diversity as our customers and stakeholders see themselves and their cultures reflected through the more than 80 languages spoken by our team of 36,000 Air Canada employees worldwide.”
GlobalFest kicks off on August 15 at Elliston Park. Come early to check out the OneWorld Festival and the Air Canada Museum. Don’t forget to take part in the Passport Pursuit challenge, where you could win $500 towards Air Canada flights, and much more!
