GlobalFest Begin Tomorrow at Elliston Park!

(Calgary, AB, August 19, 2015)                            



The thirteenth year of “Alberta’s Most Explosive FesitvalTM” begins tonight with China Night! GlobalFest 2015 takes over the night sky as the Trico Homes International Fireworks Festival begins the first of its five-night festival with a pyromusical presentation from Lidu Fireworks! With 2015 being the Parade of Champions, each team has participated at GlobalFest previously and performed exceptionally well.


Lidu Fireworks has put together a performance that includes culturally significant songs from China. The show is titled, “Butterfly Lovers” and will tell a story through synchronized music and pyro.


From 6:00PM – 9:00PM the GlobalFest 2015 OneWorld Festival hosts 18 Cultural Pavilions, 10 Ethnic Food Booths, 3 Performance Stages including the RE/MAX Main Stage, the brand new Molson Lounge, the Tipi Village presented by Nexen Energy, an International Café & Bar, a Night Market, and the Children’s Village presented by Shakers Fun Centre.

Lidu Fireworks Corporation Ltd. is one of the largest fireworks manufacturers in China, and was the main supplier of the spectacular fireworks seen at the opening and closing ceremonies of 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and Paralympics Games.

Fireworks can be postponed due to any conditions that organizers may feel jeopardize public safety. The alternate performance is the day after the regularly scheduled performance. Dogs are not allowed in the park during GlobalFest due to the loud noises made by the fireworks (service dogs exempt).



GlobalFest is “Alberta’s Most Explosive Festival!”TM Every Year in August, GlobalFest celebrates Calgary’s multicultural communities and showcases these groups with ethnic food booths, cultural pavilions, performance stages, a night market, and so much more. At the end of each evening, a 22 minute pyromusical from one of the four international fireworks teams light up the night’s sky.
