GlobalFest 2012: Philippines Night Opens to Huge Success, Mexico Ready to Deliver a “Fiesta” of Fireworks for Second Night of Festival

(Calgary, AB - August 16)After the incredible opening pyromusical performance from the Filipino fireworks team, Mexico Night (the second night of GlobalFest 2012) will seek to top the Filipino performance with an inspirational show that combines traditional music, modern rhythms, and classical tunes in between. Mexican fireworks team, Lux Pirotecnia, has designed a pyromusical show that they have dubbed a “Fiesta Mexicana!” They hope their show will create a festive atmosphere synonymous with the vibrant culture that they wish to share with the people of Calgary at Elliston Park during Sunday’s performance. 

From 6:00PM – 9:00PM the GlobalFest 2012 OneWorld Festival hosts 15 Cultural Pavilions, 12 Ethnic Food Booths, 4 Performance Stages (including a new Urban Arts Stage), an International Café & Bar, and a Kiddie’s Korral packed with kid-friendly entertainment.

GlobalFest tickets and passes can be purchased at all Calgary Co-op Customer Service Offices, Marlborough Mall, Alberta London Drugs Locations, and at the on-site Box Offices.  

Fireworks can be postponed due to any conditions that organizers may feel jeopardize public safety. The alternate performance is the day after the regularly scheduled performance. Dogs are not allowed in the park during GlobalFest due to the loud noises made by the fireworks (service dogs exempt).
